Kinumpirma ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso na may dalawang petisyong inihain sa Korte Suprema na kumukuwestiyon sa legalidad at konstitusyonalidad ng impeachment complaint na kanilang ipinasa sa Senado.
Sa isang pahayag noong Pebrero 19, 2025, sinabi ni House Secretary-General Reginald S. Velasco na batid ng Kamara ang mga petisyon ngunit hindi pa sila nabibigyan ng opisyal na kopya ng mga ito.
“We came to know about the petitions through the various media outlets. Considering that we have not received copies of any of these petitions, we are constrained to wait until we are furnished copies before we respond to any query on the matter,” ayon kay Velasco.
Sa kabila ng hamong legal, tiniyak ng Mababang Kapulungan na sinunod nila ang lahat ng itinatakdang proseso sa Saligang Batas kaugnay ng impeachment complaint.
“The House of Representatives ensured compliance with all constitutional requirements when it filed the Articles of Impeachment and transmitted it to the Senate,” dagdag ng opisyal.
