Pumanaw na ang isang Filipina caregiver nitong Linggo ng umaga, Hulyo 13, matapos ang halos isang buwang pakikipaglaban para sa kanyang buhay dulot ng malulubhang pinsala na kanyang tinamo nang atakihin ng Iranian missile ang kanyang tinitirhan noong June 15.
Ito ay kinumpirma ng Philippine Embassy in Israel sa isang Facebook post ang pagkamatay ni Leah Mosquera, 49-taong-gulang, mula sa Negros Occidental.
“It is with deep sorrow that the Philippine Embassy in Israel announces that Ms. Leah Mosquera, a 49-year-old Filipina caregiver from Negros Occidental, passed away this morning due to severe injuries she sustained when an Iranian missile struck her Rehovot apartment on 15 June,” batay sa Facebook post ng Embassy.
Ayon pa sa Embahada, humarap sa maraming operasyon si Mosquera nang isinugod agad ito sa Shamir Medical Center at binantayan ng kanyang kapatid na babae na si Joy, na nagtatrabaho rin sa Israel.
Nangako naman ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) na magbibigay sila ng buong suporta sa mga naiwang kaanak ng biktima.
“In line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the DMW-OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration), in partnership with the PHL (Philippine) Embassy in Tel Aviv-DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs), shall defray expenses related to OFW Leah’s return and burial,” ayon sa inilabas na statement ng DMW. | via Clarence Concepcion | Photo via Anas Baba/AFP/Getty Images
