The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) expressed its gratitude towards Century Pacific Food, Inc. (CPFI) following the ₱1 rollback in the price of their canned sardines under the brand Ligo and 555.
According to DTI Secretary Cristina Roque, the one-peso rollback, which is effective as of July 1, is a huge help in reducing the expenses of the Filipino families.
Additionally, she also emphasized the collaborations of private companies with the government in order to ensure the affordability of food products.
“Patunay din ito na sinusuportahan at nakikipagtulungan ang pribadong sektor sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. para matiyak na mananatiling mura ang presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin,” Roque said in a statement.
The secretary also assured the citizens that the agency will watch over the market, ensuring the stability of the basic needs’ prices.
“Patuloy na makikipagtulungan ang DTI sa lahat ng stakeholders para pangalagaan at protektahan ang kapakanan at interes ng mga consumer,” she added. Ι via Florence Alfonso | Photo via Cristina Roque/Facebook
