“Double Victory” for NTF-ELCAC

In a press release by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), it has been reported that through the government’s unwavering commitment to peace and development, 5,455 barangay projects have been fully implemented, and 1,690 Former Rebels have been reintegrated into civilian life.

The projects, part of the Barangay Development Program (BDP), include roads, water systems, schools, health stations, and electrification. As of June 13, 2025, 90.2% of the 6,045 planned projects from 2021–2024 have been finished. Under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), former rebels, 1,037 ex-NPA and 653 Militia ng Bayan, received housing, training, and financial assistance.

“This is not just about building infrastructure; this is about delivering justice,” said NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Usec. Ernesto Torres Jr., stressing that development reduces the appeal of armed struggle. Torres said both programs are central to the government’s whole-of-nation approach to ending insurgency. | via Dann Miranda | Photo via PNA
