President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to immediately destroy confiscated illegal drugs and strengthen their chain of custody to prevent the substances from being recycled back into the market.
“Destroy them immediately—as quickly as possible—and make sure you’re present during the process so that when they say ‘so many tons,’ that’s exactly how many tons are actually there, with nothing missing,” Marcos said.
It also aligns with the biggest seizures during his administration, including over PHP 13.7 billion worth of narcotics since July 2022.
