Senator Robin Padilla Relinquishes His Duties as PDP-Laban President to Baste Duterte

In a press release issued by PDP-Laban, the party highlighted the decision of Senator Robin Padilla to take a leave of absence as its president. PDP-Laban Vice President Baste Duterte will assume the vacated position.

In a letter submitted to Party Vice Chairman Alfonso Cusi, Senator Padilla stated that he has given his full effort in campaigning for the party’s candidates, and now intends to focus on his legislative duties in the upcoming 20th Congress. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and to former President Rodrigo Duterte, adding that he will continue to advocate for the party’s agenda in Congress.

In a speech during the 127th Independence Day celebration in Kuala Lumpur, Senator Padilla shared that he will not be seeking any political position. Instead, he announced his intention to serve as campaign manager for the tandem of Senator Imee Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte — a move that hints at a possible team-up for the 2028 presidential and local elections. | via Dann Miranda | Photo Courtesy of Senate of the Philippines
