The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has extended the deadline for estate tax amnesty applications to June 16, 2025, since the original cutoff date, June 14, falls on a weekend.
The amnesty program covers the estates of individuals who passed away on or before May 31, 2022, provided their estate taxes remain unpaid as of that date.
Under the extended deadline, applicants must submit the Estate Tax Amnesty Return, the Acceptance Payment Form, and other supporting documents in triplicate to their respective Revenue District Offices. Taxpayers are urged to act promptly to avoid missing the final deadline and to fully benefit from the amnesty program.
Payments must be made over the counter, as no online payment option is available. To assist taxpayers, authorized agent banks will extend operations until 5:00 p.m. on the deadline day.
BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. reminded the public that incomplete applications or late payments will be processed as regular estate tax transactions and will be subject to applicable penalties. | via Dann Miranda | Photo via BIR
