The Quezon City Public Library (QCPL), in partnership with Jellyfish Education Philippines, is offering free basic Japanese language classes starting June 19, 2025. The initiative, which has been running since 2019, aims to promote language learning and cultural exchange, and has already benefited over 13,000 Filipinos.
The classes are open to learners aged 18 and above, regardless of location, and will be held online via Zoom from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Each session covers foundational grammar, vocabulary, greetings, and writing systems like Hiragana and Katakana, along with cultural insights on Japanese etiquette and customs.
Participants must pre-register and secure a slot—limited to 500 per session—on a first-come, first-served basis. A confirmation email is required within 24 hours to finalize enrollment. The QCPL encourages interested individuals to visit its official Facebook page for updates and registration links as early slots are expected to fill quickly. | via Dann Miranda | Photo via QCPL’s FB Page
