HPG to be deployed on roads not covered by NCAP

Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) announced plans to intensify its presence on roads not covered by the No-Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP). This move aims to enhance traffic law enforcement and alleviate congestion in areas lacking automated monitoring systems.

HPG will focus on deploying personnel to areas outside NCAP’s scope. HPG spokesperson Lt. Dhame Malang emphasized that their efforts will support the MMDA and Land Transportation Office (LTO) in maintaining smooth traffic flow and ensuring commuter safety. While the HPG will not directly enforce NCAP violations, it stands ready to assist in cases where traffic violations escalate or involve other infractions.

Following the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) reinstatement of NCAP on major thoroughfares starting May 26, this collaborative approach underscores the commitment of various agencies to uphold traffic regulations and improve road safety across the National Capital Region. | via Dann Miranda | Photo via PNA
