Renovation Mishap in Pasay Leaves 2 Dead, 3 Hurt

Two individuals lost their lives and three others sustained injuries when the second floor of a water refilling station under renovation collapsed in Pasay City on May 29. The victims included a senior citizen and a construction worker, while the injured were also construction workers.

According to Pasay Police, the renovation was conducted without proper building permits and safety measures. The structure lacked metal scaffolding, relying instead on wooden supports, and the workers were not equipped with appropriate safety gear.

Authorities are considering filing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide against the building’s owners. The incident underscores the critical importance of adhering to construction safety standards and securing necessary permits to prevent such tragedies. | via Dann Miranda | Photo via Pasay City Police
