Mayo 22, 2025 — Naglabas ng reaksiyon si Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC) Chairperson Benjo Basas kaugnay ng panawagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. para sa courtesy resignation ng lahat ng miyembro ng kanyang gabinete.
Ayon kay Basas, ikinagulat nila ang hakbang na ito ng Pangulo at umaasa silang ito ay para sa pagpapalakas ng serbisyong pampubliko, at hindi simpleng hakbang para sa pulitikal na pag-aayos.
“This is a surprising development, and we sincerely hope it is driven by the intention to strengthen public service rather than by mere political realignment. ,” pahayag ni Basas.
Nagpahayag din ng pangamba ang grupo, partikular na sa posibleng epekto nito sa sektor ng edukasyon kung sakaling mapalitan ang mga pinuno ng Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), at Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Aniya, maaaring maantala o maantala ang pagpapatuloy ng mahahalagang programa.
“if the heads of key agencies such as DepEd, CHED, and TESDA are replaced, as this could disrupt the continuity of critical programs.” dagdag niya.
Gayunpaman, sinabi rin ni Basas na kung tatanggapin ng Pangulo ang courtesy resignation ng kanyang mga opisyal, dapat tiyakin na ang ipapalit ay higit na may kakayahan, taos-puso, at tapat sa tungkulin.
