Good news, future educators! Malacañang just announced 16,000 new teaching positions for the next school year, with a goal of hitting 20,000 total soon — all part of PBBM’s push to fix the teacher shortage and improve learning in schools.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Marcos Jr. wants to make sure each student gets enough attention from teachers, to improve classroom results.
“Focus talaga si PBBM sa quality education,” Castro said. “Gusto niya, bawat bata, matutukan ng teacher.”
The Department of Budget and Management confirmed the green light for the hiring spree: 15,343 Teacher I slots (Salary Grade 11), 157 Special Science Teachers (SG 13) and 500 SPED Teachers (SG 14) a total budget of ₱4.194 billion, funded under DepEd’s 2025 budget. | via Lorencris Siarez | Photo via PNA/Yancy Lim
