Impeachment case vs. VP Duterte, no effect on alliance candidates

House Quad-Committee Chairman And Surigao Del Norte 2nd District Representative Robert Ace Barbers insisted that the impeachment complaint against former vice president Sara Duterte did not affect the votes of the alliance for the new Philippines candidates.

Barbers specifically referred to the votes from Mindanao that the alliance candidates got.

According to the congressman, the election results show that it did not affect the victory of the administration candidates.

He gave the example of the victory of 36 out of 44 Mindanao lawmakers who first signed the impeachment complaint.

He said this means that the congressmen who supported the impeachment complaint against the vice president have an 81.81 percent win rate.

The congressman explained that if impeachment is said to be a political liability, the congressmen should not have lost in their respective districts. | via George Mission De Leon | Photo via PNA
